For more than thirty years with the Kellogg Institute at the University of Notre Dame, I have promoted the policies and pastoral vision of Blessed Oscar Romero. Through many on-site visits and continued research, the support of Mons. Ricardo Urioste was absolutely crucial for our work. He visited the university and was published repeatedly in our Romero proceedings. Monsignor was a primary consultant for our award-winning documentary: Monseñor: the Last Journey of Oscar Romero and for our recently published book, Archbishop Romero and Spiritual Leadership in the Modern World (Lexington Books, 2015).

Mons. Urioste is now with his collaborator, Oscar Romero. May they always assist us in following their examples with constancy and courage in our modern world.

— Rev. Robert S. Pelton, CSC
