University of Notre Dame
Notre Dame, one of the nation's ten most selective private universities, has a strong foundation of research and collaboration in Latin America. The University of Notre Dame's MBA program is currently ranked as 29th among all the full time MBA programs in the US, according to U.S. News and World Report. The MBA curriculum was also ranked by the Aspen Institute and the World Resources Institute in the top 10 for being on the "cutting edge" of social and environmental issues.
The Mendoza College of Business houses the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, founded in 1998 to provide students with skills to enable them to convert ideas into market possibilities in the contexts of both individual and corporate entrepreneurship. Although a relatively new program, it is ranked in the top 50 entrepreneurship programs nationwide by Entrepreneur magazine, and 23rd by Business Week for Faculty Intellectual Capital.
The Kellogg Institute for International Studies is one of the most prestigious US research centers for the study of Latin American politics and development. It complements the teaching and other activities of ND departments and colleges.
Universidad de Guadalajara
The Centro Universitario de Ciencias Económico-Administrativas (CUCEA) of the Universidad de Guadalajara, a campus with modern facilities built in 1995 in the area of Zapopan in the outskirts of the City of Guadalajara, serves as the main center for undergraduate and graduate education in business and economics. It houses 10 undergraduate and 14 graduate programs in various areas of economics and business, as well as a PhD in business and economic studies.
The CUCEA incorporates several research centers such as the Center for Research in Economic Theory, Center for Economic and Social Research, Center for Research on Tourism, and the Institute for Regional and Economic Studies. The Universidad de Guadalajara is the official state university of Jalisco, and as such it has a prominent influence in the areas surrounding Guadalajara.
