U.S. - Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES)

The Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame welcomes you to this website serving an important new partnership between the Universidad de Guadalajara (UG) and two units of Notre Dame (ND) - the Kellogg Institute and the Mendoza College of Business. This partnership is developing the agricultural and business skills of small farmers in Mexico. Seven professors from the UG business and economics faculties will work together with faculty affiliated with the Gigot Center of the Mendoza College of Business in the preparation and design of course material and teaching methodology for courses on Entrepreneurship. They will also train on computer-assisted teaching and participative learning methodologies at the Kaneb Center and take part in a ND working group on NAFTA and rural development. A new specialty in rural development and marketing for graduate students at UG will be taught at UG first by ND professors, and then by trained UG professors. This website will provide a regularly updated compendium of information about the program as it develops.

This partnership was made possible with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through an award from the Association Liaison Office for University Cooperation in Development (ALO) to support the U.S. - Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES) Initiative. The opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or ALO.
