About

This bio was current as of 2016, when she was part of the on-campus Kellogg community.

My current research with Professor Moreno focuses on representations of migration and migrant identity in Latino/a literature from the Caribbean and its diaspora in the United States. Through a comparative analysis, we are investigating the differences in the ways migration is represented and the ways in which this plays into the social and political dynamics experienced by Latinos/as both in the Caribbean and the U.S.

This past summer I was granted an internship through the Kellogg Institute at the Inter American Press Association in Miami, Florida. The IAPA is a non-governmental organization that serves to promote freedom of speech and freedom of the press throughout the Americas. There I was able to further explore my interests in human rights and socio-political dynamics in Latin America while also gaining valuable work experience and improving my language and communication skills.
