Traveling Trunks of Africa
Overview
Through a hands-on approach, the Traveling Trunks of Africa project gives students the opportunity to learn about Africa apart from textbooks. Through music, instruments, artifacts and other materials, students will gain knowledge of the rich cultural heritage of the various regions of Africa.
The curriculum units that accompany each trunk are designed by former teachers.

Lending Policy
Educators are required to submit a one time lending agreement the first time a trunk is borrowed. A materials request form must be submitted each time a trunk is borrowed.
There are no user fees for borrowing the trunks; however, educators are required to pay for insured return shipping unless they are returned in person to the institute.
There is a maximum one-month lending period for trunks. If the trunk is not received by the due date a 2-day grace period will be granted for the return of materials. After the 2-day grace period the institute charges a late fee of $5.00 per day. Late fee funds will be used for the acquisition of additional materials.
