Faculty Research Grant
Grant Year
2014-2015

Archival research in Lima, Peru and Buenos Aires, Argentina during the summer of 2015 will allow the researcher to consult the personal papers, journal articles, and war memories written by the Peruvian writer and feminist Catholic activist Zoila Aurora Cáceres (1877–1958). Her writings are held at the Library of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima, the Biblioteca Nacional in Buenos Aires, and the Archivo General de la Nación, also in Buenos Aires. This research is part of a book project focusing on war literature written by 19th-century women and its resulting impact on the relationship between gender and society.
