Partnerships
Uganda Martyrs University
We have partnered with Uganda Martyrs University, Uganda’s premiere Catholic University, to actualize our mission by advancing the study and practice of human development. The ultimate goals of this collaboration are to build solidarity among peoples, alleviate needless human suffering, and make a positive, measurable and sustainable difference in the lives of the poor. By engaging with communities facing a variety of complex challenges, Notre Dame and Uganda Martyrs have the tremendous opportunity to create a bold and innovative model for university-led partnerships aimed at ameliorating extreme poverty in the developing world.
Purdue University
Faculty members from Purdue University are working closely with the Ford Family Program and faculty from Notre Dame to share expertise, and work collaboratively with Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) and our community partners. Purdue’s International Programs in Agriculture in particular has been actively involved with Ford Programs in Uganda, providing technical expertise that compliments Ford’s holistic approach to development.
Millennium Promise
The Millennium Villages project, a key partner initiative coordinated by Millennium Promise, the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and the United Nations Development Program, shares the Ford Program’s broad view of sustainable development. By working with the Ruhiira Millennium Village in Uganda, the Ford Program has the opportunity to learn from and contribute to this bold, transnational effort while at the same time developing our own unique approach.
