A part-time senior advisor to Gleacher & Company, which provides strategic advisory services to corporations, McGrath previously served in the same capacity at Broadpoint.Gleacher and Gleacher Partners. Prior to joining Gleacher, McGrath spent 27 years with McKinsey & Company, where he worked with more than half of the 50 largest consumer goods companies and retailers in North America on questions of business development, strategy, and operational improvement. He led McKinsey’s Americas Consumer Goods practice from 1997 to 2003. He retired from McKinsey in 2004.
McGrath is a director of GATX Corporation and Aware Inc. and a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal Ahold of the Netherlands. He sits on the advisory councils of the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. He has extensive experience and a deep interest in Latin America, having spent his youth in Panama where his uncle, for whom he was named, was archbishop.
McGrath received a BBA degree from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MSc (Econ) degree from the London School of Economics.
