Roberto Garza Delgado

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Gard Corporation

Garza serves as chairman and CEO of Gard Corporation, which he founded in 1999. Gard Corporation comprises several companies that operate in the Americas, Europe and Asia: Selther-Simmons Mexico in mattress manufacturing, Rooster-McGuire in manufacturing and distribution of consumer products, Garden in real estate development, IDZ in high-tech development of RFID technology, Global Group in supply chain management, and GPD in refrigeration manufacturing.

He has been a member of several boards in Mexico and the US including ALFA, Banca Serfin, CAINTRA, the Young Presidents Organization (Mexico), Universidad Regiomontana, Universidad de Monterrey, Banamex Citigroup North, and Shaw Industries. He also serves on Notre Dame’s Latin American and Caribbean Advisory Council and the Advisory Council of the Mendoza College of Business.

Garza’s daughter, Gabriela, graduated from Notre Dame in 2004; his son, Roberto, will graduate in 2008.

Garza earned a BS in mechanical engineering in 1978 and received his MBA in 1981, both from the University of Notre Dame.
